With his father a skilled woodworker and his mother a talented sculptor, it was inevitable that founder of the illustrious Schofield Watches, Giles Ellis, was to be a creative genius himself.

Starting his career in graphic design, his intelligent thinking, flair for details and obsession for perfection soon saw him crave bigger and sometimes more obscure challenges – like a business restoring Italian Bowl-back Mandolins, for one.

But even this didn’t quench his insatiable thirst for exceptionally flawless design, but his move into the meticulous world of fine watchmaking seems to holding his attention… for now.
